Naomi "Sue" Shumate Obituary
Mrs. Naomi “Sue” Pilkington Shumate, 79, of Moravian Falls passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025 at her home.
Sue was born on January 2, 1946 in Surry County to James Albert Pilkington and Minnie Broyhill Pilkington.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Luther M. Shumate; son, Gary Shumate, 4 brothers, 4 sisters and a grandchild, TC Minton.
Sue is survived by her daughters, Myra Pruitt of Statesville, Annette Jarvis of Moravian Falls, Loretta McGee of Union Grove; sons, Boyd Shumate of Moravian Falls, Wayne Shumate of Moravian Falls; sister, Zella Barringer of Richmond Hill GA, 15 grandchildren and 25 greatgrandchildren.
The Visitation will be held 2:00-2:45 p.m. Sunday March 23, 2023 at Moravian Falls Baptist Church. The Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday March 23, 2025. Burial will take place at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
Rev. Joe Sturgill will be officiating.
