Ner Hostetler, age 70, of Taylorsville, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, at his home.
Ner was born December 14, 1954, in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Samuel S. Hostetler and Lydia B. King Hostetler.
Ner worked as a delivery driver and was a member of Dayspring Christian Fellowship Church. When Ner was asked how he was doing, he would respond “I’m happy”. He was happy because he had Jesus in his life. He loved his grandchildren, horses and enjoyed going to horse auctions. He was a friend to everyone he met.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by: a son, Abner Hostetler; sisters, Nancy Hostetler, Mary Zook; brothers, Eli Hostetler, John Hostetler, Samuel Hostetler.
Those left to cherish and honor Ner’s memories include: his wife of 47 years, Rachel Hostetler of the home: his daughter, Barbara Hostetler Stoltzfus (Shaphan) of Statesville; his sons, David Hostetler (Miriam) of Moravian Falls, Enos Hostetler (Rikki) of Michigan; his sisters, Leah Hostetler, Barbara Speicher, Rhoda Hostetler; 12 grandchildren; and a number of other family members.
The family will receive friends at 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. and also from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Day Spring Christian Fellowship in Hiddenite.
The funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Dayspring Christian Fellowship and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Adam Overholt will officiate.
