Patricia (Johnson) Hoke

            Patricia Johnson Hoke, age 65, of Claremont, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 14, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones, 

            Patricia was born December 21, 1960, in Alexander County, the daughter of the late William Eugene Johnson and Eva Arcola Goble Johnson.

            Patricia dedicated 25 years of service as a finance manager for Newton-Conver City Schools and community schools. A woman of strong faith, she was a member of the Christian Methodist faith and faithfully served as the church secretary at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Claremont. Patricia found joy in reading, crafting, and caring for animals but her greatest happiness came from being “Mawmaw”. She was also an avid NASCAR and hardcore Duke Blue Devils fan. Patricia was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and loyal friend whose kindness and generosity touched the lives of many.  

            Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Gary Johnson.

            Those left to cherish her memory include: her husband of 44 years, Tim Hoke; her daughter, Samantha Stewart and husband, Peter of Duncan, SC; her son, Matthew Hoke and wife, Brittany of Claremont, NC; her grandchildren, Isabella Hoke and Lucas Hoke. Her sister, Frances Johnson of the Bethlehem Community and her sister-in-law, Nancy Johnson of the Bethlehem Community. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Adams Funeral Home.

            A Graveside Service will be held at 12 p.m., Monday, May 18, 2026, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, 3500 US 70 Claremont, NC 28610. Pastor Eddie Hendershot will officiate.

            Memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes or Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America.
