Patrick T Bryant

            Mr. Patrick T. Bryant, 81, of South Center Street, Taylorsville, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2018 at his residence.

            Mr. Bryant was born June 28, 1937 in Lexington, KY, the son of the late John Harrison Bryant and Irene Thompson Bryant.

            He was a US Navy veteran, who served 20 years in the Navy and served on the USS Enterprise Aircraft carrier as Chief Safety Officer. He was a member of the US Navy Rifle Team during the late 60's. The Team traveled throughout the US for exhibitions and competitions. He also worked as the plant manager for Alexvale Furniture until retirement.

            Patrick was a member of Taylorsville Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder and Deacon for 20 plus years. He volunteered with the mobile café, past member and president of the Taylorsville Lions Club. Upon his retirement he enjoyed working in his woodworking shop, where he made skateboards, cabinets, cutting boards, and numerous other items.

            Including his parents, he was preceded in death by: a brother, John Harrison Bryant, Jr.

            Those left to cherish his memory include: his wife of 54 years, Reita Matheson Bryant of the home; a son, Zachary Harrison Bryant and girlfriend, Mary Matheson, of Taylorsville; grandsons, Harrison Bryant and Colin Bryant; a nephew, Michael Bryant and two nieces, Kym Schoeff, Katie Hunt; a sister-in-law, Carol Matheson.

            A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Taylorsville Presbyterian Church with full military honors accorded by DAV Chapter 84 and 6.  Pastor Paul Sink will officiate.

            The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
