Mr. Philip Ernest “Ernie” Caldwell, 72, of Lenoir, passed thru the gates of Heaven on Monday, April 27, 2020.
He was born on May 23, 1947 in Wilkes County to Philip Norwood Caldwell and Sue Elizabeth Brown Caldwell.
Ernie was a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He enjoyed volunteering with the church prison ministry. He retired from the Caldwell County Schools as a custodian. His favorite pastime was playing golf with his friends and spending quality time with his beloved dog Odie.
He is preceded in death by, his father.
Ernie is survived by his wife, Mavis W. Caldwell; mother, Sue B. Caldwell; daughters, Michelle Caldwell of Winston Salem, Hope (David) Miller of Hudson, Heather (Kelly) Crump of Boone; son, Chad Caldwell of Clemmons; 7 grandchildren and beloved dog Odie.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Fellowship Baptist Church, 2682 Fairwood Dr, Hudson, NC 28638.
