Raymond Walter Bruder, Jr., age 75, of Taylorsville, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born August 22, 1948 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Raymond Walter Bruder, Sr. and Julia Maloney Bruder.
Raymond was a US Navy veteran, who served in Vietnam on the USS Krishna. He was a member of East Taylorsville Baptist Church. Also, was a member of several veteran groups including DAV Chapter 84, VFW 5466 and American Legion Post 170. He loved to fish, hunt, play golf, loved to play Yahtzee, and travel. He was an active member of PAA and Old Allegheny Soccer and was instrumental in organizing the traveling soccer program.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Cece Bruder.
Those left to cherish and honor his memories include: his wife of 49 years, “Penny” Frances Marie Pendred Bruder of the home; his daughters, Michelle Robinson (Ramie) of Taylorsville, Julie Glance (Christopher) of Pittsburgh, PA; his son, Stephen Bruder of Harrisburg, PA; his grandchildren, Braedon Ray Robinson, Rylee Lynn Robinson, Christopher Glance; his sisters, Susan Andrew (Alan) of McDonald, PA, Mary Alice Bruder (Tom Bauer) of Cambridge, OH; his brother, Robert Bruder of Pittsburgh, PA; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the Taylorsville City Cemetery Veterans Walk with full military honors. Pastor Jamie Steele will officiate.
The family requests no flowers and memorials be made to: DAV Chapter 84, Hands of a Sportsman, or a Veterans group of your choice.
