Richard T. Helms

            Richard T. Helms, age 82, of Taylorsville, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022 at his home.

            Richard was born March 11, 1940 in Wayne County, Michigan, the son of the late Richard Helms and Doris Townsend Helms.

            He was a US Air Force veteran; he worked as an engineer for General Motors before retiring and was of the Christian faith. He was a lifelong Mason and was very active in the Shriner Organization. He was an avid reader and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

            Including his parents, he was preceded in death by: his long-time companion, Peggy Carter and a brother, Robert Helms.

            Those left to cherish and honor his memory include: his daughter, Rev. Heather Kramer (Paul) of upstate, New York; his son, Matt Helms (Julie) of Livonia, Michigan; his grandchildren, Peter Helms, Scott Helms (Sarah), Matthew Helms, Nicholas Helms, David Helms, Alison Helms; and great-grandchild, Lily Helms.
