Richard “Bug” Estes, age 52, of Olin, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.
He was born July 26, 1971 in Iredell County, the son of Darlene Lee Inscoe Estes and the late Fred Lee Estes, Sr.
His working career consisted of landscaping and poultry farming. He was a member of Sandy Ridge Methodist Global of Statesville. He loved music, collecting hot wheels and enjoyed watching movies. He also loved to travel to Gatlinburg, TN and Twin Rivers Campground in Crumpler.
Including his father, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Haylee Estes and brother Fred Lee Estes, Jr.
Including his mother, those left to cherish his memories include: his wife, Suzanne Estes; his sons, Ricky Estes, Scotty Estes both of the home; his sisters, Squirt Marlow (Joe) of Iredell County, Shirley Moore (Mike) of Mocksville; his brother, Pee Wee Estes (Michelle) of Olin; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Services will be held at a later date at Sandy Ridge Methodist Global.
