Ricki "Rikki" (Shelton) McConnell

            Ricki “Rikki” Shelton McConnell, age 64, from Asheboro, formally of Gainesville, FL, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2023 at her home following a lengthy illness.

            Rikki was born May 31, 1959 in Randolph County, the daughter of Sylvia Hogan Shelton and the late Banner Shelton.

            She attended Asheboro High School. She was of the Christian faith and loved her pets and animals. She loved music, and going to the beach.

            Including her father, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Mark “Bam Bam” McConnell; sister-in-law, Valerie Shelton.

            In addition to her mother, those left to cherish and honor her memory include: her son, William James Shelton of Wilkes County; her sisters, Geri Cook (Ted) of Asheboro, Kelli Cox (Ed) of Taylorsville, Traci Sampson (Jay) of Garner, NC; her brother, Banner Reid Shelton II of Coleridge, NC; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
