Sheryl Jean Sargent Nicholson, age 62, of Taylorsville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center.
Sheryl was born May 10, 1963, in Wood County, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Daryl Edward Sargent and Dolores Jean Smith Sargent.
Sheryl was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church in Hiddenite. She loved being a Nanny to her grandson, Sammy. She was a loving wife, and mother. She was a strong supporter of her church, always wanting to help someone. She was Greg’s rock and a champion worrior.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Sargent and his wife, Beverly.
Those left to cherish and honor Sheryl’s memories include: her husband of 33 years, Greg Nicholson; her daughter, Ashley Rough (David) of Taylorsville; her grandson, Samuel Gregory; her sister, Susan Harmon; her brothers, Thomas Sargent (Katherine), Michael Sargent, Jeffrey Sargent (Rhonda), Douglas Sargent (Esther), Phillip Sargent (Louellen); and many of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will conduct a Celebration of Life Service at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Liberty United Methodist Church. Pastor Denise Kilgo will officiate.
