Susan (Kelsey) Taylor

Mrs. Susan Kelsey Taylor, 84, of Wilkesboro, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at her residence. 

Susan was born on June 23, 1937 in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Elias Isbel Kelsey and Eleanor Crosby Kelsey. 

Susan enjoyed gardening, reading, music and time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was known for her hospitality including serving international students and emergency foster care children.  Susan obtained a Bachelors Degree in Education and Social Welfare. 

Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Elias and Eleanor Kelsey and brother, David W. Kelsey.

Susan is survived by her husband of 60 years, Herbert W. Taylor of the home; daughter, Jennifer T. Gibby and husband, Jeff of Bolivia NC; sons, Jonathan S. Taylor and wife, Beth of Rochester Hills MI, William D. Taylor and wife, Elanna of Woodstock MD; sister, Ellen Dubocq of Tucson, AZ; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

The family will hold a memorial service on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Wilkesboro United Methodist Church; a live stream will be available.  Rev. Karen Roberts will be officiating.
