Mrs. Thelma “Jean” Hannah Smith, 83, of Elkin passed away on April 27, 2023 at Hugh Chatham Health.
Jean was born on March 30, 1940 in Dauphin County Pennsylvania to Lloyd Hannah and Helen Duffer Hannah
She enjoyed spending her time outdoors hunting and camping. Jean also enjoyed reading, doing needle point and cross stitching.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne Smith Sr; daughter, Karen Collins and by her siblings.
Jean is survived by her granddaughter, Christina Mihilek (Nicholas) of Charlotte; grandson, Sidney Collins (Kristi) of Charlotte, 5 grandchildren; step daughter, Ashley Walton (Jeff) of Wilmington; step sons, Wayne Smith (Beth) of Charlotte, Logan Smith also of Charlotte and 5 step grandchildren.
The family will conduct a memorial service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Island Ford Baptist Church, 2124 Hwy 67 Jonesville, NC 28642.
