Thomas Johnson

Thomas Johnson, age 79, of Taylorsville, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at his home.

He was born on July 13, 1945 in Spring Lakes Heights, New Jersey, the son of the late Harry Johnson and Marion Johnson.

Thomas was a volunteer Fire Fighter for the West Belmar Fire Department in New Jersey for 25 years, where he rose to the rank of chief. He loved to renovate houses. He had previously worked for Middletown Sprinkler for several years and for Ditch Witch. He was of the Christian faith.

Including his parents, he was preceded in death by: his brothers, Harry Johnson and Richard Johnson.

Those left to cherish and honor his memory include: his wife Maggie Johnson; his daughters, Dawn O’Rourke of New Jersey, Dana Etsey of Maryland; a step-daughter, Christy Velting of Vermont; his son, Joey Johnson of Colorado; his step-sons, Douglas Velting of New Jersey, Michael Velting of South Carolina; and his grandchildren, Jayden, Austin, Parker, Nina, Molly, Michael, Grace; and his furry friends, Jersey, Georgia and Sam.

There will be a visitation for family and friends from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Adams Funeral Home.
