Timothy Isenhour Lackey

            Timothy Isenhour Lackey, age 72, of Taylorsville, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Frye Regional Medical Center.

            Timothy was born June 23, 1952, in Iredell County, the son of the late William Howard Lackey and Phyllis Isenhour Lackey.

            Timothy graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Lenoir Rhyne University and had worked for Alexander County DSS until his retirement. Tim received the Order of the Long Leaf Pine award upon his retirement from the State of North Carolina by Governor Bev Perdue for this distinguished service to NC for 30 years. He also worked in the Electronic Department at Wal-mart for 38 years. He was a lifelong faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church, where he was a faithful servant, on the church council, past president of the council, and treasurer of the church. He made sure that flowers were on the alter each Sunday. Timothy enjoyed walking, working in his yard and also loved to travel. He never missed a special occasion with his friends and family.

            Including his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Howard Lackey.

            Those left to cherish and honor his memory include: his brother, John Mark Lackey (Shirley) of Taylorsville; his sister-in-law, Sue Lackey; his nieces, Lisa Sipe (Timothy), Shelley Lackey (Chad), Kristin Murphy (Buddy); his nephew, Terry Lackey (Pam); numerous great-nieces and nephews; three great-great-nephews and two great-great-nieces and many other relatives and friends.

            The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 16, 2024, at St. John Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

            The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service.

            Barry Jolly, Bradley Cline, Jimmy Shook, Owen Icenhour, David Hammer, and Joel Kerley will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Lonnie Cline.
