Tony Cleatus Bentley, age 80, of Taylorsville, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at his home.
Tony was born January 18, 1944 in Catawba County, the son of the late Cleatus Luther Bentley and Annie Lee Benfield Bentley.
Tony proudly served in the U.S. Army, during the Vietnam Era and was part of the Hawk Missile Crew. He worked as a plumber for Hickory Heating and Plumbing for over 40 years and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed trading, going to antique car shows, and loved tinkering with tractors and old equipment.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Bentley.
Those left to cherish and honor his memories include: his wife of 38 years, Wanda Pennell Bentley of the home; his son, Joel Luke Bentley of Smyrna, GA; his step-children, Kimberley Keller (Chad), Kelly Ray Ritchie (Laura) all of Taylorsville; his grandchildren, Caroline Keller, Abigail Sprinkle (Ben); his great-grandchild, Liam Allen Sprinkle; and an aunt also survives.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 7 p.m., Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Neil Walker will officiate. Military honors will be accorded by Alexander Veterans Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. prior to the service.
