Truey Lee Benfield

            Truey Lee Benfield, age 80, of Icard, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Westwood Hills in Wilkesboro.

            Truey was born September 30, 1944, in Caldwell County, the son of the late Millard Benfield and Catherine Richards Benfield.

            Earlier in his working career, he was a mechanic, and then worked in the furniture industry until retirement. He was a member of Shoup’s Grove Baptist Church in Connelly Springs, where he was involved with missionary trips of the church. He enjoyed working on cars, camping, and anything outdoors. But most of all he loved the Lord.

            Including his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Louise Benfield; step-son, Allen Holsclaw; sisters, twin sister Wilma, Margaret Cook, Geneva York; brothers, Dale Benfield, Larry Benfield.

            Those left to cherish and honor his memories include: his daughters, Angela Pinnix (Rickey) of Hiddenite, Tina Coffey (Stephen) of Wilkesboro; step-daughter, Paula Riddle (Bob) of Icard; his son, Steve Benfield (Gloria) of Taylorsville; his brother, Kennie Benfield, (Diane) of Conover; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.         

            The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, October 26, 2024, in the Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor JC Bradley will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hiddenite Cemetery.

            The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. prior to the service.
