William Earl Connell

            Mr. William Earl Connell, age 77, of Stony Point, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at his home.

            He was born June 27, 1943 in Volusia County, FL, the son of the late Jesse Leonard Connell and Ruth Connell Adams.

            He had worked in law enforcement most of his working career, but he also worked races as a souvenir vendor and was a member of Tri-City Baptist Church.

He enjoyed going to motorsport races and gospel singing. He also enjoyed reading the Bible and traveling.

            Including his parents, he was preceded in death by: a daughter, Laura Connell; two brothers and a sister.

            Those left to cherish and honor his memory include: his wife, Marie Carter Connell of the home; a daughter, Christy Connell of Statesville; a son, Brian Connell  and wife, Paula of Statesville; step-daughter, Tammy Crenshaus;grandchildren, Kim Aponik of Mooresville, Christopher Aponik,Joshua Connell of Statesville; great-grandchildren, Mila Jordan of Mooresville; step-grandchildren, Daniel and Coty; great-grandchild, J; special friends, David and Crystal Elder.

            The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, January 4, 2021 at Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Hampton Drum will officiate. Burial will be in the Astor Park Cemetery in Astor, Florida.

            The body will lie-in-state from 9 a.m. until Noon, Monday, January 4, 2021 in the  Adams Funeral Home Chapel.
