I've been away for sometime and just found out hes gone to heaven. My heart is breaking. One of the most spiritual people I've ever know. Sorry I won't see him again until I get to heaven. Condolences to Nancy family, his tribe and friends. Last time I saw him he moved to Hickory and was with his beautiful woman Nancy. Thanks to her for loving and caring for him through the most difficult time in his life. You are an angel on earth. I was so happy to see he finally met his match and found true love. I never saw him so happy befor and they were both beaming and glowing. May you R.I.P.

I knew Darryl as Sonny Skyyz, and what a perfect stage name for the man whose presence could light 1000 candles: his essence simply radiated. I consider myself lucky to have known him and to have had the opportunity capture him on stage several times. He will be sorely missed by me and many others for a long time. Definitely going to miss those bear hugs. And I'll never forget #LoveOneAnother. Blessings and prayers for the whole family and to Nancy.

I met Darryl about 13 years ago he was a good man and we both loved music and that's what brought us together. At that time I was paying for my Granddaughter to take guitar lessons. He asked me if I ever played and I answered yes and told him I quit playing back in my 20's and would love to do it again. He said to me then what is stopping you and gave me the encouragement to play again. I may never play again before a crowd but Darryl was a great man that encouraged people to chase there dreams. He will always live in our hearts while God has gained not only an angel but wonderful musician.

You've been a bright spot in my day for over five years. The day I met you I got the biggest bear hug of my life and even though you are gone I still feel that hug around me.
It's always hard to say goodbye but some people light up the room so much that you cannot help to notice the darkness when it goes out. Rest well, my friend.

I will miss this man who I can proudly call my friend. I am so saddened and heartbroken. I just knew he would be back playing the bass. He loved his family so much. We shared many conversations, and he always held his head up. Peace and love to the family.
